CLARENDON, Jamaica – A 30-year-old man was on Wednesday arrested and charged in relation to the murder of an American woman.
The accused has been identified as Maurice Palmer, a labourer of Patrick Street, Old Harbour in St Catherine.
Reports are that the body of 56-year-old retired teacher, Glenda Campbell, of Paterson, New Jersey, USA and New Harbour Village in St Catherine, was found floating close to the shore of the Welcome Beach in Salt River, Clarendon on Friday, January 9. She had been reported missing on January 8.
A post mortem was conducted on Campbell’s body on January 27, which indicated that she died as a result of blunt force trauma to her head. Her throat was also slashed.
