The Germany Under-21 international has been tipped to make a high-profile move in recent weeks, with Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund and Schalke showing an interest.
And now Karius – dubbed the ‘new Neuer’ – has caught the attention of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is set to make a move for his services next summer.
The Emirates outfit – along with Premier League pair Manchester United and Liverpool – havereceived a huge boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with £62m move away from PSG, with prominent Uruguayan journalist Valentin Fletcher now confirming he will leave next summer.

He said: “For the time being, Cavani will not leave PSG until the end of the season, as his agent confirmed.
“At the end of the season there is a strong chance he will go somewhere else, in particular to England or Spain.”
Dortmund are reportedly ready to listen to offers for sought-after midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who is understood to be keen on a move away from the struggling Bundesliga side.
Manchester United is understood to be the 24-year-old’s favoured destination, but that won’t stop the interest coming from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
