Accused killer of ex-lover remanded as family plans victim’s funeral
The man — who is alleged to have murdered his ex-girlfriend in front her mother — has been remanded in custody.
Twenty-year-old Ryan Edwards will remain behind bars until his next appearance in the St Ann Parish Court March 7.
The unemployed Steer Town, St Ann resident was remanded as the loved ones of victim Alisa Garey make preparations to lay her to rest.
Garey, 20, was stabbed to death December 14, 2016 in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Edwards fled the scene while Garey’s wailing mother cradled her as she bled out.
Edwards was charged with murder two days later, Friday, December 16, after residents held and beat him.
He allegedly knifed Garey in the chest for dumping him.
