THE National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) was yesterday investigating a report of an oil spill in the Kingston Harbour which occurred Thursday afternoon.

The agency said a preliminary report indicated that the spill took place in the vicinity of Gordon Cay.

“The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is currently coordinating the clean-up and containment activities being undertaken by the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard,” NEPA said in a release.

It asked fishers and other marine interests to avoid Gordon Cay and surrounding areas until further advised.
