ST. ANN SOUTH WESTERN division was the latest in the recount to announce that KEITH ANTHONY WALFORD of the PNP reclaimed his seat with 6900 votes leaving ZAVIA TAZE MAYNE of the JLP with 6822 votes.

The Director of Elections, Orrette Fisher is reporting that the People’s National Party (PNP’s) Winston Green has won the St Mary South East seat following the official count that ended late Saturday evening.

Fisher said at the end of the count, Green was ahead by nine votes.

This would change the balance of power to 31 seats for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and 32 for the PNP.

Asked whether there was any indication that the JLP might seek a magisterial recount, Fisher said that decision was entirely the prerogative of the JLP.

Following the preliminary count on Thursday, the JLP’s Norman Dunn was declared the winner of the St Mary South East seat after polling 7,311 to Green’s 7,184.
