Nick Gordon is ready to “set the record straight” on rumors that he murdered girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown in his first TV interview since her tragic death. The 20-year-old sat down for an emotional interview with Dr. Phil, which will air later this month. In a teaser for the interview, he is asked: “Did you murder Bobbi Kristina Brown?” He is also questioned about his actions on the night that Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in a bathtub at their Georgia townhouse in January 2015
Gordon, 20, has insisted that he “tried to save Bobbi Kristina’s life.” His lawyers, Habachy and Jose Baez, said in a statement: “The truth is that Nick cooperated with law enforcement since day one. The truth is that no one loved Bobbi Kristina more than Nick and no one has suffered more as a result of her death than Nick.” Bobbi Kristina was the only daughter of pop superstar Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Bobbi was found unresponsive in a bathtub in late January 2015. She was kept in a medically induced coma for several months and died in hospice care at the age of 22.
A medical examiner ruled that Bobbi Kristina died from from Lobar pneumonia as a result of Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and water immersion combined with mixed drug intoxication. However the nature of her death has been deemed “undetermined” which means that it is not clear whether Bobbi Kristina died from an accidental or intentional cause.
Legendary singer Whitney Houston died in an eerily similar way to her daughter when she was found in a hotel bathtub in 2012, from what was later ruled an accidental drowning with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors. Brown was described as “inconsolable” and a few days later was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles because of what a family friend described as Brown being “overwhelmed” by her mother’s sudden death.
