The Manchester police are confirming a shooting incident which involved a group of alleged lottery scammers last evening in the vicinity of the Caledonia Courts plaza.

According to the head of the Manchester Police, Superintendent Vendolyn Cameron-Powell approximately 9 p.m. yesterday, a group of five alleged scammers were at the plaza on Caledonia Road when gunmen appeared and opened fire hitting all five.

The men were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

According to the police, the victims are not wanted, but are a target for gunmen.

Information about several illegal activities at bars and clubs along Caledonia Road has since surfaced.

“It is really a cause for concern and we can’t do anything just now as it concerns these businesses because they have their license to operate,” Cameron-Powell said.
