Dancehall artist Gage says he is disappointed in the direction Dancehall is taking and adds that he is ‘saving’ dancehall.

The artiste says that everyone seems to be fighting out artists and even Dancehall artistes are jumping ship to other genres such as Hip Hop.

Gage says he will be one of the artistes fighting for Dancehall.

He notes that he isn’t against Reggae, even though it feels as though Reggae is against the Dancehall movement.

“Well right now, at the moment I’m saving dancehall” Gage said during an interview.

Gage continued by saying “Right now Reggae artiste, fighting dancehall, and artiste switching, so right now i’m saving it (Dancehall)”

The artiste believes his work will eventually payoff and Dancehall will be ‘saved’ however he warned those whom have abandoned dancehall in it’s time of need.

“Well i hope those who run out, when it good they don’t find in back.”

Gage also notes that he isn’t against Reggae, even though it feels as though Reggae is against the Dancehall movement.

“No wi nah fight out Reggae, but wi just a talk bout wah wi do, they do Reggae and we don’t judge it, but them judge dancehall, wi nah theif, wi nah rob nobody….” Gage continued
