The guilty with explanation plea of an accused brought a hush of stunned silence to the St Catherine Parish Court recently.
The accused male, Kemar Powell told parish judge Alicia McIntosh that he had an argument with the female complainant which escalated into a fight and, during which, he used an extension cord to subdue her.
“So that gave you the right to tie her up? You never hear about walk away?” asked the judge.
Allegations outlined was that on on February 7, 2017 during an argument Powell used the extension cord to tie up the woman and beat her repeatedly and even stepped in her face.
He was subsequently charged for assaulting a female.
A social enquiry report was ordered for his sentencing on May 2, 2017.
