The man charged with the murder of Jamaica College student Nicholas Francis has been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.

Quacie Hart was sentenced on a road traffic violation on Thursday.

Aside from the murder case, Hart has also been charged with having sex with a minor.

He was charged on November 9 by the Centre for the Investigations of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse for having sex with a person under 16.

Hart was allegedly involved in a relationship with the minor — between June and October 2015 — whom he also impregnated.

He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, November 23, the same day the case regarding Francis’ murder will be mentioned.

Francis was stabbed to death, allegedly by Hart, who demanded his cellphone as he travelled on a Toyota Coaster bus, along Old Hope Road on Wednesday, October 26.
