The turmoil among warring factions in western Kingston seems to have no end in sight after Tuesday’s brazen drive-by attack.

One man was killed and two other persons shot and injured.

Police report that, at about 9:00 pm, a group of persons were standing at the intersection of Oxford and Drummond Streets when a car drove up and its occupants opened fire at the group.

Three men were hit and one of the injured, Lawrence Barnes, was pronounced dead at hospital. The other two men are listed in serious but stable condition.

Since the extradition of Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, warring factions have created havoc in Tivoli Gardens and Denham Town in a battle for turf and extortion rights.

Despite a heavy police presence, the criminal element has repeatedly carried out murders, although there has been a significant lull in recent weeks.
