A man, who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a seven-year-old boy, had to run for his life late last week after being pursued by angry residents in Brown’s Town in St Ann.
The man was saved after he called the police and is now in their custody at the Browns Town Police Station as investigators conduct their probe.
While police remain tight-lipped on the incident, reports are that the man allegedly sexually assaulted the boy early last week.
However, relatives reportedly only became aware late last week that something was wrong with the boy after school officials noticed that the boy was acting strange.
The child was later taken to the hospital and has been admitted for extensive treatment.
Our source understands that, on Friday evening, as news of the alleged sexual assault of the boy spread in Brown’s Town, residents set out to find the suspect and, in the process, a bus parked in a yard the man was residing was destroyed by fire.
The man reportedly escaped and later contacted the police, who came to his rescue.
