Members of the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) carried out a massive disconnection operation in the community of Gregory Park, Portmore on Thursday.

The team of workers, joined by a team of police officers, made stops along several lightpole structures to removes miles of illegal connections – said to cost the company billions in losses each year.

According to a member of the team, over 150 illegal connections and one meter were removed. The team pointed out some of the ingenious methods residents had used to abstract the electicity. The operation lasted some five hours.
