A motorist died as a result of injuries he sustained during a three -vehicle collision in Trelawny on Monday afternoon.
Five other persons were hurt during the accident.
The police have withheld identity of the deceased.
Reports are that about 1:45pm, a red Toyota Corolla motorcar, travelling along the North Coast Highway, upon reaching a section of Salt Marsh, the driver lost control of the vehicle and drifted into the path of a Nissan motorcar, travelling in the opposite direction.
In an effort to avoid colliding with the oncoming Toyota Corolla, a tour bus, with tourists on board, which was traveling behind the Nissan, drove onto the side of the road. However, the Toyota motorcar rammed into its side.
The tourists escaped physical harm.
But, the driver of the Toyota and three passengers received injuries. The driver died on the spot, while the passengers were taken to the hospital in Falmouth. Two persons aboard the Nissan were also reportedly hurt and rushed to hospital.
