Children’s lobby group, Hear the Children’s Cry has expressed concern that the number of children reported missing between January and February, is nearly at the level recorded for last year.
The group says of the 244 children who was reported missing, 25 are still not found up to February 6th. Most of the children who went missing are from St. Catherine, with St. Andrew, Kingston, St. James and Clarendon.
Chairperson of Hear the Children’s Cry Gillian Rowlands says the group believes many of the missing children may be victims of human trafficking. She says despite the efforts by several agencies the problem of child going missing continues.
Paparazzi Jamaica will be digging for more information on this story.
