Dancehall artiste Popcaan is reportedly close to signing a deal with Canadian rapper Drake’s OVO Sound label.

According to sources close to the ‘Unruly Boss,’ Popcaan and his team are currently in talks with Drake, Oliver El-Khatib and Noah “40” Shebib to be apart of the Toronto-based record label.

Since the start of 2016 Popcaan and Drake have worked closely on several projects including the 6 God’s controversial ‘Controlla’ single which made rounds online after the ‘Ova Dweet’ deejay’s verse was excluded from the Rapper’s chart-topping ‘Views’ album. Since then, Popcaan released several exclusive remixes on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio, performed at OVO fest 2016 and starred in Drake’s ‘Please Forgive Me’ short film released in September.

The ‘876 Gud’ was recently featured in OVO Jordan’s latest advertisement. Popcaan, real name Andrae Hugh Sutherland, would be the first Dancehall artiste signed to OVO and will join Rappers Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Majid Jordan, Roy Woods, DVSN, Dave.
