A suspect has been charged with the recent murder of Burger King employee, Nile Brown.

Shamar O’Meally, a 20-year-old taxi operator of a West Kingston address, was charged on Monday afternoon by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

O’Meally was reportedly pointed out in an identification parade that was held on Saturday.

He and his girlfriend, who was Brown’s landlady, were detained on February 9 after the body of the 23-year-old woman was found in a barrel in Ramble district, St Thomas.

A post-mortem report revealed that she was strangled to death after being sexually assaulted.

The woman who was detained was released from custody on Sunday.
