A staff party at the Grand Bahia Principe Hotel in St Ann ended in pandemonium early Tuesday morning after a taxi operator was shot by a security guard.
Reports are that, sometime after midnight, an altercation developed between a female hotel staff member and her ex-boyfriend, who is a popular taxi man.
The taxi man later stabbed the woman, and a senior security officer at the hotel fired his gun and shot the cab driver.
The bullet exited the taxi driver’s body and hit the 17-year-old son of a hotel employee.
The shooting resulted in chaos, bringing an end to the party. Romain Virgo, who was the featured act, had to abandon his performance.
The woman, the taxi operator and the 17-year-old hit by the bullet were taken to St Ann’s Bay Hospital.
