Two people have now been confirmed shot and injured during Tuesday afternoon’s flare-up of violence between criminal gangs in West Kingston.

Reports from police in the volatile area are that two men were travelling along Spanish Town Road in the vicinity of the Tivoli Court when gun fire erupted, sending scores of persons scampering for cover.

When the shooting ended, the two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

“The two injured have since been admitted in stable condition,” Howard Chambers, the senior superintendent in charge of the West Kingston Police Division, told Loop News.

Police say they have also increased their presence in the area and are reporting that they have managed to bring back some level of order in the division.
