Christmas Day ended in horror for residents in Norwood, St James as four people were shot and killed by rampaging gunmen on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Monique Woolery, 27, of Llandilo, Westmoreland and 5th Avenue, Montego Hills; 30-year-old Jason Anderson of Nelly Lane; Leo Mitchell, 39, otherwise called ‘Fire’ of Columbus Square, Norwood; and Yorken Silvera, 43-years-old, of Norwood, St James.

Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that at around 7:30 pm, Woolery and a male companion were walking along Nelly Lane when a white motorcar drove up, armed men alighted and started firing shots at the couple, who ran into a nearby shop to take cover.

The men continued firing at them into the shop where Woolery and four other persons were shot and injured. The injured persons were taken to the hospital where Woolery, Anderson, Mitchell and Silvera were pronounced dead, while a 16-year-old girl was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

Paparazzija understands that Woolery’s male companion escaped unhurt.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) also noted via its social media outlets that a heavy detachment of police and military personnel had been sent to Norwood following the bloody rampage.

The St James Police are appealing to the public for information to assist in their investigations into last night’s murders.
