Commander of the St James Police Division, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth has given an assurance that two persons will be charged in connection with the murder of 15 -year- old school girl Shineka Gray before the end of this week.
The two suspects are are now behind bars.
According to SSP Nesbeth, speaking on Thursday at the regular monthly meeting of the St James Municipal Corporation, members of the St James Crime Investigation Branch (CIB) are putting together the finishing touches of their investigation.
He heaped high praises on the sleuths for their shrewd handling of the case.
“I want to commend, publicly here, the astuteness of my investigators, who up to this time are still locked in their investigative processes providing an airtight case in that Shineka Gray situation. I can assure you that two men will be charged before this week is out for the various offenses and it is for the court to decide what happens to them. I can assure you that they will be charged,” SSP Nesbeth guaranteed.
The grade 10 Green Pond High School student’s partially decomposed body was found near the Irwin Meadows community of St James with multiple stab wounds, three days after she was reported missing towards the end of January.
