Jocelyn Wildenstein, 76, is accused of clawing her designer boyfriend Lloyd Klein and then slashing his chest with a pair of scissors after flying in to a violent rage at around 1:30am, a source tells Page Six.
Sources say her boyfriend, Klein, 49, was forced to defend himself by shoving the ‘Bride of Wildenstein’ into a closet to prevent further attack. Police later arrived to arrest her. Wildenstein was arraigned in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday night, where she spoke with her boyfriend for 20 minutes before appearing in front of the judge.
Wildenstein has been charged with felony assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and a misdemeanor assault with intent to cause physical injury.
Apart from her worldwide notoriety for her extensive cosmetic surgery, Wildenstein also made headlines in 1999 divorce when she won the largest settlement in divorce history. Wildenstein was awarded $2.5billion and an additional $100million a year for 13 years after splitting from her husband of 21 years, Alec Wildenstein.
Wildenstein has been dating Lloyd Klein, a Canadian born designer who has created looks for the likes of Nicki Minaj and Paula Abdul, for the past decade. Wildenstein previously detailed her wild spending and lucrative divorce in a 1998 interview with Vanity Fair.
Widenstein recounted buying a $350,000 on a Chanel dress, building a $3million mansion for her daughter on the family’s Kenyan reserve for her 17th birthday and the many plastic surgeries she has had over the years.
Her ex husband Alec said at the time: ‘She was thinking that she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin does not work that way. But she wouldn’t listen.’
Speaking to New York Magazine about her cosmetic procedures in 1999, Wildenstein said: ‘If I show you pictures of my grandmother, what you see is these eyes – cat eyes – and high cheekbones,’ she said.
‘I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, and other than tightening up my appearance never change. My clothes, I am still the same size when I was 16 years old. You like to stay young – to stay healthy,’ she said.
