He is Oraine Ellis of May Pen. Ellis was convicted when he appeared in the ClarendonCircuit Court yesterday.

Evidence was given at the trial that the girl went to the church one Sunday in April 2012 and Ellis prayed for her.

Jamaican Pastor Sentenced For Raping 15-y-o Girl

It is alleged that the next day Ellis called the girl and when she went to the church, he reportedly raped her.

The girl reported the incident to a neighbour and residents later went to the church and held unto Ellis until the police took him into custody.

Ellis in an unsworn statement from the dock denied the allegation saying it was the girl who called him and when she came to the church, he did not interfere with her.

However, the seven member jury found him guilty of rape.

In handing down the ruling yesterday, Justice Nicole Simmonds told Ellis that he breached the trust, which the girl had in him and therefore he had to get a stiff prison sentence.

Ellis was previously convicted of carnal abuse and pleaded guilty to the charge in 2007 and was sentenced to four years imprisonment.
