ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The body of a man was found on the Spanish Town Bypass in the vicinity of a tyre shop in De La Vega City on Monday, the police have reported.

It is of dark complexion, slim build and five-foot-six-inch long. The police say it was clad in a grey and white striped shirt, white short pants, black shoes. The police believe the deceased is in his late thirties.

Reports are that about 2:05 am, residents heard explosions. On the arrival of the police, the body was seen lying on its back in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to the face. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

Detectives assigned to the Major Investigation Division are subsequently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the body. They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 758-5048, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
