A man, who attempted to stage a robbery at a house in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Friday was given the shock of his life when he was disarmed and shot by the would be victim.
Reports are that the crony of the man saw what was happening and also made a hasty retreat.
The man was later held and the weapon handed over to the authority.
Reports are that at about 8:30a.m., two men went to a house in a community called Hartford Drive where they reportedly held up the occupant of the house at gun point.
Reports are that a struggle developed during the robbery attempt and one of the hold-up men was disarmed and shot.
It is unclear whether he was shot with the gun which he took to the location.
The police now have him in custody in relation to the incident, while the firearm and two rounds of ammunition were also handed over to the law.
